What makes you excited about joining Wisedocs? What are the challenges?
“I’m excited to bring the power of AI to industries like healthcare and legal documentation, where it can have a profound impact." - Ksenia Khlyustina, Director of Engineering
AI can analyze large volumes of data more efficiently than a human, and that’s precisely the advantage we’re delivering. The challenges, however, are endless. We have numerous client needs and features to develop, each with unique requirements. While we’re grateful for high client demand, it means we’re constantly working to maintain delivering quality service and address each client’s specific needs.”
At Wisedocs, we’ve seen firsthand how much AI-driven tools can transform industries. In 2023, we experienced a 3.5x growth rate and welcomed twice as many customers to our platform. It’s proof that the need for smarter, faster, and more efficient solutions is bigger than ever. With Ksenia now leading our engineering team, we’re ready to build on this momentum, bringing even more innovative tools to support our clients and the challenges they face every day.

“Slack, Jira, and MS Teams are my daily essentials. When I have the opportunity, I enjoy diving into Terraform or writing SQL queries—it’s a treat to explore data, troubleshoot issues, or deploy something firsthand.”
“What project of Wisedocs has your team worked on that you are most proud of”
Ksenia is supporting the development team on several exciting features, but one initiative stands out: transitioning Wisedocs’ infrastructure from AWS ECS to Kubernetes. Partnering closely with the DevOps team, Ksenia has contributed her past expertise and experience with Kubernetes to this project.
“I’ve used Kubernetes in the past and am thrilled we are bringing it into our infrastructure again,” she shares. This transition, driven by the hard work of Wisedocs’ DevOps engineers, is expected to streamline deployments, making them easier to manage and monitor. Ksenia’s support of the Wisedocs’ DevOps team underscores the strength of our teamwork as we continue to enhance our technical capabilities and bring this technology back into use.
What advice would you have for other women entering the tech space and aspiring to leadership roles in engineering?
Ksenia is passionate about supporting women entering the tech world, encouraging them to find their passion and embrace the journey. “Don’t hesitate to enter the tech industry and pursue something you genuinely enjoy,” she says. “Once you find what sparks your interest, career growth will naturally follow.”
She reminds us of the tech industry’s roots, saying, “Programming was initially considered a ‘women’s job’ -- many of the first programmers were women, and they laid the groundwork for modern computing.” In the 1960s, women made up an impressive 30% to 50% of programmers. But as programming became more prestigious, the field’s perception shifted, and fewer women were encouraged to pursue it. Our history reminds us of the incredible contributions women have made, and continue to make, in shaping technology as we know it.
Ksenia also speaks to the challenge of imposter syndrome. “It can feel like you have to work twice as hard to prove yourself,” she shares. “But your perspective and insights are valuable. Confidence will grow with time and experience. Don’t let self-doubt hold you back -- lean into your strengths.”
At Wisedocs, inclusion and representation are a priority. With a female co-founder and 55.6% of senior leadership roles held by women, Ksenia is part of a team proving that diverse voices lead to stronger innovation. Her story is a reminder that there’s room for everyone in tech, and the industry is better when more people bring their unique perspectives to the table.
What strategies have you found beneficial for building and leading a high-performing technical team?
“Some key strategies that have helped me build a strong team include hiring for both skill and team fit, empowering individuals with ownership of their work, and keeping communication open and goal-oriented. I encourage a culture of continuous learning, which is essential in a field that evolves so quickly. I like to lead by example by staying connected to the technical aspects of our projects — testing, provisioning, and troubleshooting — so I can understand and address the challenges my team faces and support them effectively.”
