The Wisedocs team in 2023: A lookback at our hiring and promotions
We’re a purpose-driven team, bent on changing the face of the claims industry. We’re also a certified Great Place to Work, and believe in supporting our staff.
For many organizations, 2023 was a welcome return to normal following the changes of the previous years. The Great Resignation cooled, hiring stabilized, and the introduction of tools like generative AI has made it possible to boost happiness and productivity for workers, without replacing their jobs. All of this is a good sign for employers, and at Wisedocs we are no exception.
With travel in full swing once again, Wisedocs was busy both on the conference circuit and at home. This year our team spent time connecting with industry professionals, adding fresh new talent to our customer success team, and launched our industry leading tools in Generative AI. All of this means we’re continuing to improve at helping customers achieve their goals, and developing tools to make processing medical documents a breeze.
Most importantly, the Wisedocs team was busy working together. We’re a purpose-driven team, bent on changing the face of the claims industry. We’re also a certified Great Place to Work, and believe in supporting our staff. By mentoring, sharing, and learning together as a team, we believe in investing in growth and opportunities for everyone involved. Bringing together a diverse talent base and fostering connection among our crew makes it possible for us to row towards one goal. That goal is big, industry-disrupting change.
Wisedocs: Employee investment by the numbers
With an average of 40 employees on our team company-wide, we’ve had 8 internal promotions so far in 2023 for an internal promotion rate of 20% - more than triple the average. This year, our team was given opportunities to engage with issues of inclusivity in the workplace, take on new leadership roles, and contribute to the company’s success. According to our People and Operations Manager Manal Abu-Shawar, this is all part of the Wisedocs commitment to scale.
"In 2023 we continued to grow our team mindfully,” she says. “We always prioritize allowing our team members the opportunity to grow internally, and glad we are able to offer promotions opportunities for our top talent. I am proud of our team for always rising up to the challenges and contributing to our growth. We look forward to another year of growing together in 2024.”
Wisedocs: Hiring great talent across our teams in 2023
Of course, this doesn’t mean we haven’t made an effort to branch out! In 2023 we had 20 new hires across all departments, such as engineering, product, marketing, sales, and customer success. Bringing in new talent is essential for creating a knowledgeable and well-balanced team, and we’ve made a particular effort in 2023 to invest in our leadership. In an era of digital transformation, customer service is key, and we added incredible team members Michelle Mabee and Michelle Nokes. We also saw Wisedocs Director of Revenue, Jenna Earnshaw, move into the key position of COO.
This commitment to quality customer service goes hand in hand with our 2023 strategy of expanding our existing product offering. Changing the game in medical document processing goes beyond having the most innovative tech. Medical documents are detail oriented and deadline critical, and it’s essential we have a high quality team capable of supporting our clients’ needs. This investment in customer experience reflects that goal, and takes us one step closer to achieving industry-disrupting change.
With a commitment to both nurturing our talent pool and adding fresh faces to our team, we’ve been able to expand our product offerings and set our customers (and our operations!) up for long term success. What will 2024 bring? While we can’t predict the future, it will almost certainly include doing more of what we do best: developing tools capable of making change, and working together as a team.
